From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Jennifer Lawrence is reprising her role as the franchise's kickass heroine, with Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Julianne Moore also starring.
The late Philip Seymour Hoffman also makes an appearance as Plutarch Heavensbee in the short teaser, which sees a shocked Katniss begin a quest to rescue bruised and battered Peeta from the cruel grasp of the Capitol.
"There has been rampant speculation about what really happened in the Quarter Quell," says Stanley Tucci's Caesar Flickerman in a video. "Here to shed a little light on the subject for us is a very special guest. Please welcome Mr Peeta Mellark."
Katniss quickly becomes emotional and walks towards the screen, mouth open with tears in her eyes. "You're alive," she whispers, as Gale looks distinctly less thrilled at the revelation.
Judging by past trailers Mockingjay will be the darkest Hunger Games movie yet, with the strong smell of rebellion in the air.
Released last Wednesday, the final trailer shows Katniss, dressed head-to-toe in black armour, returning to the rubble of her former District 12 home.
"If we burn, you burn with us!" she screams in a powerful message to President Snow, played by Donald Sutherland, as Lorde's soundtrack crescendos to a dramatic peak.
"Prepare to pay the ultimate price," the sinister Snow replies. Safe to say we can expect a loud, fast-paced movie, jam-packed with edge-of-your-seat action.
Directed by Francis Lawrence, the Hunger Games films are based on Suzanne Collins' novel series which has sold more than 65 million copies in the US to date.
Mockingjay Part 1 hits UK cinemas on 20 November, with Part 2 due to follow a year later in November 2015.
