Awards season is officially kicking into gear with the announcement of the Golden Globe nominations.

The films and television shows vying for success at the annual awards ceremony were  revealedWednesday (3 February) – a whole two months after they’re usually announced.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Taraji P Henson hosted the virtual announcement event.

The nominations this year follow the news that the 78th Golden Globes ceremony will be held by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) in two different locations. 

Amy Poehler will present from the event’s usual spot in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, while Tina Fey will host from New York’s Rainbow Room.
