With just two weeks to go until Fifty Shades of Grey storms into cinemas for Valentine’s Day, fans have been given the first glimpse of one of the movie’s sex scenes.
Based on EL James’ bestselling erotic novels, the film adaptation stars Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as BDSM-loving billionaire Christian Grey and infatuated student Anastasia Steele.
Previous teasers have been rather tame with not much more than “PG kissing”, but in the new clip, a shirtless Mr Grey is seen selecting a blindfold for a raunchy session with Ana.
The 30-second trailer, shown during the US ad-break for Suits on Wednesday night, opens with a heartbeat sound before Christian explains to Ana that he “doesn't do romance” after a “rough start in life”.
“Welcome to my world,” he murmurs, while unzipping his jeans, as women worldwide get more than just a little hot under the collar.
Anastasia is seen looking dishevelled and dancing in the kitchen while her new lover watches before yet more kinky snippets of bedroom passion ensue, featuring whips and that ice-cube-melting-down-her-stomach bit.
Beyonce's sultry "Crazy in Love" remix can be heard in the latest trailer, while Ellie Goulding, The Weeknd, Sia and Frank Sinatra have also contributed to the soundtrack.
One sex scene that will not be shown in the film is the one where Christian pulls out Ana's tampon in the bathroom. Director Sam Taylor-Johnson has said that including the moment was “never even discussed”.
One scene we can look forward to is the final encounter between Christian and Ana in the first of EL James’ books – the one “where Ana asks him to do his worst to show her how bad it’s going to get”.
Fifty Shades of Grey is set for UK release on 13 February.
