From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

San Diego’s Comic Con has once again come to a close. Fans have made their way home, hung up their cloaks and are, most likely, eagerly waiting for next years’ convention.

Notably this year there were a lot of trailers. And we mean a lot. On Saturday alone fans were treated to Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, Deadpool and X-men.

In case you did miss anything, we’ve rounded up all the best trailers and special clips shown, from Con Man to Star Wars, plus the leaked Suicide Squad, X-men and Deadpool trailers.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

As expected, Warner Bros. released the massive trailer for their upcoming superhero brawl, and it had enough DC references to leave fans going crazy. One shot that stood out was Robin’s suit, tagged by the Joker, leading many to believe Jared Leto may be appearing in this film before Suicide Squad.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Behind the scenes

Lucasfilms really went all out on their Comic Con panel, bringing in Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill to chat with the crowd of adoring fans. They also showed this interesting bit of behind the scenes footage that features Leia in full costume and confirmed Simon Pegg’s appearance in the film.

Suicide Squad

This one’s a leaked trailer, so watch it while you still can. Featuring a stellar cast including Will Smith and Jared Leto, this DC film, set in the same universe as Batman v Superman, looks set to be dark, violent and, most importantly, action packed.

X-men: Apocalypse

Another leaked trailer with another incredible cast. After a fantastic panel featuring Hugh Jackman – who is so far not confirmed for this film – Fox decided to show a three minute trailer teasing their latest X-Men film. Again, watch before it gets taken off the net.

Deadpool

One last leaked trailer, this time of the Merc-with-a-mouth, Deadpool. This one's not quite as good quality as the others but features some pubescent jokes from Ryan Reynolds' character. The real one is expected to drop within the next three weeks.

Sherlock

One of the first big trailers to be shown, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman both appeared as Victorian versions of their characters in this fantastic clip. Fans were also shown a video message by Moriarty star Andrew Scott that hinted at a possible return to the character.

Game of Thrones - Audition reel

While the GoT panel didn’t reveal very much about the upcoming series, they did show this hilarious footage of the cast auditioning for their roles including a very posh Rose Leslie saying “You know nothing, Jon Snow.”

Fear the Walking Dead

In one of the more scary trailers shown, we are taken back to a time before anyone knew what a “walker” was. Fear the Walking Dead is a spin-off series from The Walking Dead which has already been confirmed to have at least two seasons.

Con Man

One of the more obscure trailers, Con Man is a crowdfunded web series about, well, Comic Cons. It is loosely based on the real-life events after the TV series Firefly was cancelled and how the actors dealt with being flocked by fans.

Heroes Reborn

Many fans were left disappointed with the Heroes series after the first season so there’s a lot of expectations riding on reboot Heroes Reborn to pull things back together. From this trailer, featuring the fantastic Masi Oka, things could be on the up.
