From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The first images of Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter reprising their roles in the Bill & Ted franchise have been released.

Photos published on Tuesday by Entertainment Weekly give a glimpse of both actors’ performances in Bill & Ted Face the Music, a sequel planned for 2020.

Reeves stars as Theodore “Ted” Logan in the franchise, while Winter portrays Bill S Preston, Esq.

One of the new images features both characters in a phone booth, while another sees them facing the Grim Reaper (William Sadler) introduced in a previous instalment.

A third photo includes Brigette Lundy-Paine, who appears as Ted’s daughter Billie, and Samantha Weaving, who portrays Bill’s daughter Thea, as well as Kid Cudi (who plays himself).

The Bill & Ted franchise began in 1989 with the release of Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, a goofy time-travel comedy that has since become a fan favourite.

A sequel, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, followed in 1991.

Reeves and Winter revealed in March this year that a third film would be made.

Bill & Ted Face the Music will be released on 21 August, 2020.
