From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Ben Affleck is currently busy promoting his next film, The Accountant, but journalists seem to want to talk about is his future in the DC Extended Universe and his role as Batman.

Already, the actor has spoken about the critical reaction to Batman v Superman, attempting to reason how critics wanted a ‘different tone’ to what Zack Snyder was going for.

Speaking to the Associated Press, Affleck revealed the title to his upcoming solo-Batman film - or at least the current title - which he is set to star in and direct.

“The movie I think is going to be called The Batman. At least that’s what we’re going with right now. I might change it… That’s about all I got right now. We’re working on the script, the script is going well, I’m really excited about it.”

So there you have it. From Tim Burton’s Batman, to Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, to Affleck’s The Batman, no one has yet done The Caped Crusader.

Meanwhile, following the DVD release of Batman v Superman, an easter egg was spotted, six months after initial release.
