Batman v Superman has been no different; two months on from the extended R-Rated cut reaching homes and fans have discovered a new easter egg.
Upon theatrical release, six months ago, some viewers wondered why Superman didn’t use his X-Ray vision to see Batman’s Kryptonite gas canisters.
On further inspection, the canisters Batman possesses are marked “Pb” - the symbol for Lead in the Periodic Table of Elements - a way of stopping the Man of Steel realising what is inside.
One fan reached out to Batman v Superman photographer Clay Enos on Twitter, saying: “Hot damn [director] Zack Snyder is very detailed. Clay Enos, can you confirm that's what the "Pb" means on the canisters?” Enos replied: “Lead. Exactly. Nothing happens by accident in Zack's movies.”
Acknowledging Superman’s X-Ray vision, however, causes quite a few other problems; surely he would have noticed the bomb during the film’s senate meeting? Could he not have located his captured mother and saved her, therefore not having to fight Batman?
Snyder likely has explanations, the most obvious being there would be no Batman v Superman if they made the hero too over-powered.
Meanwhile, Suicide Squad actor Jai Courtney responded to the DC film’s negative reviews, while the villainous team-up was recently given the inevitable Fifty Shades of Grey mash-up by a fan, dubbing the film Fifty Shades of Joker.
