Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The UK's largest art fair for Modern British and contemporary art begins today in London.
The London Art Fair features over 100 galleries displaying work from some of the great names of the twentieth century alongside exceptional recent work, from leading figures to emerging talent.
On top of the main fair, which includes work from over 1,000 artists, this year sees the return of the Art Projects section, which features solo shows, curated group displays, large-scale installations, performance events and a programme of experimental film and video, all by contemporary artists from across the world.
Canadian curatorial initiative Beers.Lambert Contemporary Art makes its Art Projects debut at this year's fair with its collection entitled Vestiges.
With pieces by Vasilis Asimakopolous, Tom Lovelace, Andrew Salgado and Tine Semb, Vestiges is described by Beers.Lambert as exploring "ideas of presence/absence, reality, and reflexivity not only through content, but also predominately through an artistic practice that refers to, and greatly informs the artists' own work".
