Your support makes all the difference.Some parts of the UK will see rain and snow early on Tuesday, with forecasters issuing a yellow weather warning snow and ice over northern and southwestern parts of the UK.
A yellow warning for ice covers the whole of Northern Ireland and most of Wales, and the Met Office warns of ice patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, and hill snow that may cause travel disruption.
In the north of England and southern parts of Scotland, hill snow is expected to affect some roads and railways. A warning for snow runs into Scotland’s central belt and is set to end before midnight.
Rain should stall over south and central Scotland later in the day as it accumulates in the hills. Snow is likely to fall over the Welsh mountains and in northern England as the day goes on.
As for the southeast of England, Tuesday brings a frosty morning with some brighter spells early in the day in the east. Some heavy rain is expected later in the day, with strong winds moving in from the west.
Over the weekend, the Met Office said the UK had experienced its snowiest spell since late January 2019, when 20 weather stations in England recorded accumulations of 5cm or more for three days in a row.
Milder temperatures are predicted for the rest of the week, accompanied by wetter and windier weather. There are currently 32 flood warnings and 54 flood alerts scattered across the UK.
