Our prime minister is a clever man. He is also an extraordinarily wealthy man, whether by his own means or through his successful marriage. He has a home waiting for him in California as well as the prospect of a long and prosperous future career in finance.
On the other side of the spreadsheet, he sees weeks or months of infighting with unpleasant people holding repugnant views, trying to outdo each other in appealing to a populist audience, just to maintain their own seat of power at the next general election.
So why on earth does he continue to preside over this chaotic government? Plunging us all into increasing misery and frustration wherever we look – while at the same time, his party hurtles with increasing speed towards electoral oblivion?

Delusional Dowden
Deputy leader of the Conservative Party Oliver Dowden said recently that when “faced with the threat of Labour” the electorate will choose to narrow the gap between Labour and the Tories.
He is absolutely convinced that the Tories will rally and do better than the polls report. Where is this man living? Certainly, not on Earth. For Dowden to think that the British electorate would be foolish enough to consider trusting the Conservative Party to govern us again is quite simply anathema.
The electorate has seen through the lies, deceit and obfuscation of the past 14 years. We are sick and tired of the law-breaking, half-truths and incompetence. Rwanda, Brexit, Covid-19, HS2, fraud and wasted taxes are just a few on the list of endless failures.
Mon Dieu! Why should we wait a further six to nine months experiencing yet more Tory mismanagement and failure? Dowden is, at best, misguided and ought to advise Rishi Sunak that the time has come to throw in the proverbial towel and call a general election at the earliest possible date. By hanging on, Sunak and his party of no-hopers are deluding themselves that the electorate will rally to his call, forgetting the past 14 traumatic and wasted years of Tory governance.

We need to follow Khan’s example
I defend the right to strike completely. However, the recent action surrounding train and Tube strikes highlighted something of significant importance. While the Tube strike was cancelled, the rail strike went ahead.
This in itself proves that whereas Labour (in this case Sadiq Khan) will sit down and talk with striking workers to end disputes, the Conservatives, who are the ones responsible for the rail strikes in the first place, make no effort to stand up for commuters and end disputes.
This is exactly why we need a national Labour government to follow the amazing example that Khan sets.

This is why the Conservatives will lose the election
News that a pensioner on £200 a week had to pay £600 at a private dentist because there are no NHS dentists in Solihull is absolutely sickening.
People are suffering and many have died due to the lack of care over the past 14 years regarding the NHS.
Roll on the elections...
