Give the British people a general election

For there to be a government, there must be an ability to govern. Foremost, there must be the ability to govern itself. The last 24 hours have clearly shown that neither condition has been met.  Therefore, the country effectively has no government.

It is time for a vote of no confidence in this entity-formerly-known-as-government so that the British public can give its own verdict on the Tory party at the polling booth.

They are simply costing the country and ordinary people far, far too much.  We can’t go on like this. If any Tory MPs have a shred of honour, decency and grasp of reality, then they should now cross the floor to help bring this excrement-stained house of cards to the ground like it deserves.

This Tory government claims to be patriotic and care about its people. It is a ridiculous claim, they have not and will not listen to what the public want – and that is a general election.

They are nothing but a selfish bunch of narcissists, destroying and dismantling the country to prolong their jobs to cling to power.  It is an utterly depressing and pathetic situation that we find ourselves trapped in.

I see a bunch of cowards, with no patriots amongst the Tory ranks. The latest U-turn and humiliation in what Tom Peck rightly calls the Tory s***shows was the Commons vote last night to ban fracking.

Chaotic scenes in the commons saw them en masse abandon their manifesto to keep their cosy little jobs and give another two fingers to the rest of us.

Radio 4 is full of Tory grandees spouting we will never hand over power with the polls as they are. In other words, stuff you lot, we will trash this country for as long as we can. Patriotic principles like every other principle gets tossed out the window when you can hold onto a bit of power.

The great British public will never ever forgive or forget what they have done to this country and come polling day – whenever it is – the blue wall will be well and truly razed to the ground.

On 27 September 2022, our North Dorset MP Simon Hoare emailed me to confirm that: “Should there be a vote in parliament, I will not support fracking in the UK.”

Last night in the vote on fracking, Simon Hoare voted against the motion to ban fracking. Another Conservative MP hypocrite who cannot be trusted.

One can only hope that former special adviser Jason Stein has a better adviser than himself when writing his CV for a new job.

Slandering a previous chancellor, working for Liz Truss, and previously having advised Prince Andrew is hardly a glittering advertisement of his abilities.

The announcement by transport secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan of a delay to the bill establishing GBR (Great British Railways) hardly comes as a surprise.

Given the current administration’s clear resolve to consolidate the post-Brexit UK’s status as an international laughing stock, there must be concern over the use of the adjective “great”. We need clarity over the purpose of the world’s inclusion.

Is it meant as an ironic comment on the following adjective “British”, or is it meant to be an aspiration for the substantive noun “railways”?
