Your support makes all the difference.Your article "Four sheep for every Welshman" (27 July) paints a picture of sheep jostling cheek by jowl and consuming every last blade of grass as far as the eye can see. This is inaccurate. Stocking of sheep in Welsh uplands is and always has been no more than one sheep per acre. I can assure you that in this green and pleasant land (not withstanding the recent droughts) growth of summer grass far outpaces the capacity of the sheep to consume it. Our own Snowdonia farm has the same number of sheep as it did in the 1950s, pre-subsidy.
