His hopelessly ill-judged decision to hold his Brexit referendum, has left us living through the dire consequences (PA Wire)

David Cameron apparently can’t think of a better plan than sending migrants who arrive on our shores in small boats to Rwanda.

How about opening up legal routes, which would eliminate the people-smugglers business at a stroke, satisfy our international and moral obligations, and help to alleviate the critical labour shortages currently in our economy?

Given his hopelessly ill-judged decision to hold his Brexit referendum, with all the dire consequences we are currently having to live through, one wonders why anybody might be supposed to be interested in hearing what David Cameron has to say about anything.

Is it one rule for Braverman and another rule for everyone else she continues to fail

What a shambles that the home secretary goes missing as soon as her flagship policy on immigration fails and her other links to Rwanda are exposed.

So much for Rishi Sunak’s promise of a government built on “integrity, professionalism, and accountability."

Even the very people who did a backroom deal to get Suella Braverman put in post are as bewildered as ever. This is a home secretary who has clearly lost the confidence of her own supporters in her own party.

Surely the very least Rishi Sunak can do is put Suella Braverman out of her misery once and for all. Or is there still one rule for Suella Braverman and another rule for everyone else as she continues to fail on every one of the counts of "integrity, professionalism, and accountability" that she promised to deliver for the British people too?

This government is the worst I’ve ever known

What a weak man we have as leader of our government, it is quite unbelievable that this man is responsible for the policy of our country. Unelected by the general populous and unable to bring his own party under control, Sunak has no backbone and lets his own cabinet run rings around him.

Yet he tells us at the beginning of his tenure that his government will uphold the highest principles regarding government standards and values. That promise went to the dogs long ago, the integrity of this government is the worst I’ve ever known.

Why is the government denying employers access to a willing work force?

James Moore’s editorial perfectly highlights the often-overlooked advantages of immigrants to our workforce.

He could also have mentioned that immigrants frequently send some of their earnings back to family in their home countries. This means that money is sent overseas directly to where it can, arguably, do the most good. Compared to official aid which, in being given straight to foreign governments, may be used for vanity projects or corruptly diverted.

As he points out, it makes no sense whatsoever that when employers, especially farmers, are crying out for workers, a potentially willing workforce is denied the opportunity to contribute to our society.

We have a Government willing to sit on its hands

Just when I thought it wasn’t possible to be any more disgusted with this hideous Tory Government, I find myself revolted and infuriated even further by their dropping of the Kept Animals Bill. A measure that would have banned, amongst other things, the evil practices of puppy smuggling and the horrific cruelty of live exports.

We are told the decision to drop this legislation was because they feared it would also raise debate about the hunt ban, which everyone knows is routinely and savagely ignored across the countryside as hunters continue to hunt as they always have.

So not only do we have a Government willing to sit on its hands and leave animals to suffer horribly when they have wide public support for measures, but they are also willing to look the other way over rampant lawbreaking by hunting and do not even want the matter discussed. And they claim to be the party of law and order! Why on earth should the British people have to placidly put up with them for another 18 months?
