Letter: Who loses face over pace
Your support helps us to tell the story
My recent work focusing on Latino voters in Arizona has shown me how crucial independent journalism is in giving voice to underrepresented communities.
Your support is what allows us to tell these stories, bringing attention to the issues that are often overlooked. Without your contributions, these voices might not be heard.
Every dollar you give helps us continue to shine a light on these critical issues in the run up to the election and beyond

Sir: Don't look now but pace has just blown up in Thomas Sutcliffe's face. ('You open your mouth and a bomb goes off', 15 July). Like most people he seems to assume that it's Italian and should be pronounced 'pah- chay'. It isn't and shouldn't. Pace is the ablative of the Latin pax and the gentleman he gently mocks for pronouncing the word 'paysee' is one of the few people I know who gets it right.
Yours faithfully,
