Your support makes all the difference.Sir: After yesterday's events in the House of Commons, and what I fear will be unsatisfactory outcomes for the Conservative Party in the local elections in May and the European elections in June, it is inevitable that there will be a leadership challenge this autumn. In that event, I and others on the centre-right of the party will be faced with what looks to be a choice among the prime minister, Michael Heseltine and Kenneth Clarke. If that proves to be the case, John Major can count on our support.
