Sir: I support Martyn Lewis's call for more balance in the television coverage of good and bad news. The news must give hope as well as warn of danger. If I am to form a reasonable opinion, I must be told about evil men who murder children with bin bombs. But I should also be told of good men who brave minefields to save them.
