Ulster suffers from the same problems as the rest of Britain: poverty, unemployment, poor housing. Only more so. And within that, Catholics are worse off than Protestants. People in the south, the 26 counties are, possibly, worse off even still. The IRA ceasefire offers the chance, last seen in the 1960s, that the ordinary people of Ireland can unite against those in power in Westminster and Dublin to win a really decent future for themselves.
