There are 12 shopping days till Christmas and only 8 till the Apocalypse, but Johan Huibers isn't panicking because he's already fully prepared for both.

His 20-year building project has reached completion, and now Huibers is the proud owner of a 427-foot ark, built to the scale of archaic units specified in the Bible (not pictured, that's the one in Blackpool). It also includes real-life chickens, life-size sculptures of other animals and enough room for 1,500 of Huibers favourite people. He has risked incurring God's wrath with some new-fangled additions to the original design though; these include an on-board movie theatre and restaurant.
