The Independent shortlisted in 2013 Comment Awards

The Independent has received a number of nominations for the 2013 Editorial Intelligence Comment Awards.

Independent Voices, our comment platform, which has just celebrated its first birthday online, is shortlisted in the Online Comment Site category.

Patrick Cockburn, our esteemed foreign correspondent, is nominated in the category of Best Foreign Commentator – read his agenda-setting World View column, which has led the way on Iraq and Syria recently, here.

And in the Twittersphere, John Rentoul (@johnrentoul), The Independent on Sunday’s chief political commentator, and Owen Jones (@owenjones84), whose Monday column attracts an ever-increasing audience, are both in the running for the Twitter Public Personality award.
