Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Our campaign to tackle food poverty by supplying hot, nutritious meals to vulnerable people is set to be boosted by a charitable auction full of VIP experiences and luxury items.

This Christmas season, The Independent and The Evening Standard are sending out two fully equipped food trucks to serve delicious, chef-prepared food to those most in need. Through our Help the Hungry and Food for London Now campaigns, and in collaboration with our partner charities With Compassion and the Felix Project, we’ve already delivered almost 18 million meals. But we want to do more.

Readers now have the opportunity to bag an exciting range of once-in-a-lifetime gifts and experiences in our second online auction to raise funds to tackle the nation’s food crisis from a dinner for two at Mayfair landmark, Sartoria, to an unforgettable experience at the 19th century fairy-tale Swiss hotel, Chateau Gütsch. All proceeds raised will go towards our appeal.

The online auction goes live midday today and closes on December 17 at 7pm.
