Today, a Glasgow employment agency said that jobless people tend to have problems in the hygiene area.

Well. Whatever happened to New Britain and the vision of an enterprising country at ease with itself where we all pulled together, buoyed by a civilised mixture of compassion and common sense? One week we are back in the middle of the Class War; now we have the return of Excessive Political Correctitude and the Great Unwashed. It's enough to make you start looking around, nervously, for Lady Thatcher.
But, to be positive, the current jobless furores do present some excellent employment opportunities. For both the Jobcentre manager and employment agency with the hygiene fixation are clearly in need of some frank and informed advice from experienced unemployment consultants; and, by a happy coincidence, they will find a ready supply on their books.
