Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

"I was a bit surprised that Rocky went: he should have had another chance. I thought James, the motormouth, would go, especially looking at his body language in boardroom.

"The Greek theme the boys went with was a complete waste of money. They surely must have thought, 'hold on, we're supposed to be making a profit.' It just seemed daft.

"Yasmina did well leading the girls, but I was horrified that she went and bought everything as cheap as possible. If she worked for Sir Alan, he'd be far from impressed by that. I don't think the girls deserved to win. I wouldn't be impressed if they served that cheap tuna and stuff to me.

"It's early days yet, but I see Philip winning it, though I quite like Majid – he seems willing to get his hands dirty and gets in the thick of it. None of the girls are really pushing it yet.

"It is one of those programmes you need to watch a few episodes of to really get hooked in, but me and my kids watch it every week so I'm sure that by about episode eight we'll be addicted."
