X Factor, Pinewood Studios and a chance to meet Simon Cowell: Get bidding in our third auction for GOSH
The third of our four charity auctions for Great Ormond Street Hospital is now live, and anyone can make a bid
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Simon Cowell has thrown his weight behind by The Independent’s Give to GOSH appeal, offering readers the chance to bid for tickets to see Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor shows.
"I am delighted to donate this prize,” he said. “The care on offer at GOSH is nothing short of world-class and charitable donations are essential in allowing the hospital to maintain that incredibly high standard. Whoever wins this auction lot will be making a real difference to sick children and their families."
Cowell is a patron of Together for Short Lives, a charity which campaigns for improved palliative care for children living with life-limiting conditions. The charity’s chief executive, Barbara Gelb has today warned of a “potential crisis” on the sector.
Our third auction runs online for six days and is once again powered by Givergy Access, the fundraising platform for charities to raise money by offering exclusive items and experiences that aren’t available elsewhere.
Other prizes include a spot in Gordon Ramsay’s team for the IRONMAN 70.3 competition, unique visits to Sotheby’s and Pinewood Studios and a visit to First World War battlefields with The Independent’s own John Lichfield. For the full list please see below.
Bidding opens today and will close at 9pm on Tuesday 19 January.
