A military convoy arriving at Salisbury district hospital for the case of poisoned ex-spy Sergei Skripal has been likened to a scene from the X-Files, as investigators attempt to remove contaminated evidence from the cemetery where Mr Skripal’s wife and son were buried.

Two military lorries were at the hospital while 180 military personnel were assisting the investigation into the attempted murder of the Russian former spy and his daughter Yulia.

Officers in hazmat suits were seen at the grave of Liudmila Skripal and their son Alexander, looking for potentially contaminated evidence.

It is believed that Yulia Skripal may have visited the memorial stones three days before she was taken ill with her father in the Maltings shopping centre.

The video shows the military convoy believed to be heading to the hospital, part of an operation to remove a police car from the crematorium.

A Wiltshire police officer is in a serious but stable condition in hospital having visited the home of Skripal after they were found on a bench on Sunday afternoon.
