The grass fire reached woods northeast of Oklahoma City, US, as shifting winds made it difficult for fire services to combat the blaze.
Oklahoma Forestry Services dispatched bulldozer crews and water-carrying airplanes to keep the fire from nearby homes.
Yesterday it was reported that the fire were at least 75% contained according to Osage County Emergency Management, as the flames had been reduced to an area of 35 acres.
The region has had very little rain or snow in the past month.
No one was reported hurt in the original crash and no horses appeared to be injured by the flames.
