A heart-warming video has emerged that shows the moment a girl with Down’s syndrome discovers that she is going to college.

Rachel Grace can be seen opening her letter before her mother implores her to read its contents aloud.

After realising she has been offered a place at East Stroudsburg University she exclaims: “I got in! I’m going to college! I got in!”

The Pennsylvania student had considered four special needs schools while applying but wanted to move out and live more independently.

Rachel had been manager of the girls’ basketball team at North Penn High School for three years before receiving her acceptance letter.

Since the video was shared by Fox News it has been viewed over 13 million times, with many viewers congratulating Rachel on her successful application.
