Religious leader breaks down Ramadan and the meaning behind fasting
Imam Jihad Muhammad a religious leader at Fifth Ward Islamic Centre of Human Development in Houston, Texas has broken down just why muslims take part in Ramadan.
Explaining how it’s more than just fasting, he told FOX: “If you’re able to feed someone, feed someone less fortunate.
“The fasting itself is to make us more mindful of those less fortunate.”
Ramadan is seen at the holiest month for the 1.6 billion muslims around the world, and began on 1 April. It will be broken on 1 May with a huge celebration.
