Mets-Yankees game delayed as torrential rain hits New York
Wednesday's (26 June) game between the New York Mets and New York Yankees at at Citi Field was delayed by torrential rain that struck during the bottom of the fifth inning.
Play resumed just after 10pm, following an 87-minute delay, with the Yankees beaten 12-2 by their rivals.
Francisco Alvarez went 3 for 3 with an early homer and three RBIs, while Tyrone Taylor added a three-run drive for a two-game Subway Series sweep.
Wednesday marked the Mets' 15th victory in 19 games.
