Guards play ‘Sweet Caroline’ outside Buckingham Palace as Lionesses reach World Cup final
Guards played a rendition of “Sweet Caroline” outside Bukcingham Palace as the Lionesses beat Australia 3-1 to reach the Women’s World Cup final.
The band of the Welsh Guards played the song - which has become an unofficial anthem for England’s national football teams - at the changing of the guard ceremony outside the palace.
England beat Australia 3-1, with goals from Ella Toone, Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo sending the Lionesses into their first World Cup final. They face Spain in the final on Sunday, 20 August.
