Ben Stokes explains why England should be ‘thankful’ after New Zealand loss

Ben Stokes urged England to be “thankful” after they were beaten by New Zealand by a single run in one of the all-time great finishes.

On a stunning final day in Wellington, last man James Anderson was caught out when England needed two runs to win.

“What a game,” Stokes said after the second Test.

“I just think at the end of the day, if you can look back at that match, even in our dressing room - being on the losing side - just be quite thankful that you’ve been involved in a game like that.”
