White House press secretary Jen Psaki is holding a briefing with reporters after President Biden announced measures to tackle high gas prices. Mr Biden announced the release of 50 million barrels from the US strategic petroleum reserve along with similar measures by China, Japan, India, South Korea, and the UK. “Right now, I will do what needs to be done to reduce the price you pay at the pump”, he said. Later, Ms Psaki will accompany the President and Vice President as they serve food at a soup kitchen in Washington DC ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
