Prime Minister Boris Johnson is holding a news conference on the government’s plan for dealing with Covid this winter after Health Secretary Sajid Javid earlier gave an update to the House of Commons on the subject.

Johnson is expected to talk about how the government wants to avoid going back into lockdown, as England’s CMO Chris Whitty warned there will be a difficult winter ahead for both the NHS and the school sector with the threat of Covid very much still around.
