Far-right and counter-protesters come face-to-face in Plymouth as missiles launched at riot police
Several officers have been injured following riots in Plymouth on Monday evening (6 August).
Riot police separated far-right protesters as missiles were launched at a counter-demonstration where people held signs saying “No Place for Hate” and “Say No to Nazis”.
Bricks and fireworks were also launched towards officers who had attempted to keep rival demonstrations apart in the Devon port city.
Devon and Cornwall Police said several officers have been injured during “sustained violence” in Plymouth as disorder continued for a seventh day after the Southport stabbings with more than 370 arrests made so far.
