Thousands gather outside Turkish presidential palace after Erdoğan re-elected
Turkey has re-elected Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as its president following a closely-fought contest with opposition candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
Mr Erdoğan won with just over 52% of the vote in the second round runoff vote against Mr Kılıçdaroğlu.
Thousands of Mr Erdoğan's supporters gather outside the presidential palace to celebrate his election victory.
He first served as prime minister of Turkey between 2003 and 2014 until he became president of the country.
Mr Erdoğan is a controversial figure both at home and abroad and has arguably consolidated power over his years in power.
