Storm Babet is battering the UK today (Friday) as the country is put on high alert.
Footage captured from around Britain shows sea waves lashing coastal towns, rivers bursting banks and railway lines flooded.
In Northumberland, South Shields Lighthouse has been damaged with high waves knocking off the lighthouse’s dome.
Elsewhere, railway lines are blocked between Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury due to severe flooding.
In Sheffield, the River Don, near Meadowhall Shopping Centre is at extremely high levels.
An amber warning for persistent heavy rain is in place until 6am on Saturday.
