Dozens of people snowed in a Britain’s highest pub
Despite amber warnings of snow and temperatures well below freezing, dozens of punters decided to snow in at Britain’s highest pub on Saturday.
Around 30 people, including six members of staff, holed up at the Tan Hill Inn in North Yorkshire, which is 528 metres (1,732 ft) above sea level.
This is not the first time there has been a “snow in” at the pub. In 2021, 61 punters who came for an Oasis tribute band were trapped at the hilltop pub for three days.
Over the weekend, temperatures dropped to minus ten degrees in parts of the country, and several airports grounded flights due to heavy snow.
