Shirtless pitch invader forces referee to pause Euro 2020 final

A shirtless pitch invader caused Sunday’s Euro 2020 final between England and Italy to be momentarily paused at Wembley.

A man was seen sprinting along the touchline in the 85th minute before cutting onto the pitch to run between players.

The referee quickly blew his whistle to halt play while the pitch invader — who removed his shirt — was chased away by stewards.

It came as hundreds of ticketless fans got inside the stadium before the match, with many taking seats to watch the game.

There were scuffles and angry scenes as paying supporters pleaded with stewards for help reclaiming their seats.
