Arsonist accidentally sets himself on fire while starting blaze at children’s play centre

CCTV captured the moment an arsonist set himself on fire as he attempted to burn a children’s soft play centre in Scotland.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service rushed to Saltire Soft Play and Soccer Centre in Dalkeith at around 11.30pm on Saturday, 12 August.

Footage showed a masked man pouring what appeared to be petrol through the letterbox of the centre - he was then engulfed by the flames shortly after it caught alight.

As he attempted to shake the flames from his arms, a wall of fire burst through the door and he ran from the scene.
