Sunak won’t let ‘political correctness’ get in way of stopping ‘evil’ child grooming gangs
Rishi Sunak has said that he will not allow "political correctness" to get in the way of stopping child grooming gangs.
New government measures intended to tackle gangs include having data analysts work alongside a taskforce to identify the types of criminals who carry out these offences.
Data will include police-recorded ethnicity data to "make sure suspects cannot evade justice because of cultural sensitivities."
Sir Keir Starmer said that “ethnicity is not a reason not to come down hard”, but added that the Government “needs to recognise that that’s a small proportion of the cases we’re dealing with”.
