Pope Francis baptises baby in hospital while being treated for respiratory infection
Pope Francis baptised a baby who was staying at the same Rome hospital where he was receiving treatment for bronchitis on Friday, 31 March.
On Wednesday, the Vatican confirmed that the pontiff was to stay in the Gemelli hospital for a “few days” to recover from a respiratory infection.
The Pope brought children on a paediatric oncology ward “rosaries, chocolate easter eggs and copies of an Italian book for children about Jesus,” Vatican spokesperson Matteo Bruni said.
