Young girl steals Pope Francis’s cap in resurfaced video

Footage has resurfaced of a young girl stealing Pope Francis’s skullcap, known as a zucchetto, as he bent down to give her a kiss on the cheek.

The video was initially shared on social media in March 2017 and shows the pontiff laughing after the adorable incident.

Francis has a respiratory infection and is spending “a few days” in hospital for treatment, the Vatican said in a statement on Wednesday 30 March.

The 86-year-old had complained of breathing difficulties in recent days.
