Police negotiating Capitol Hill ‘bomb threat’ hope for peaceful solution
Police negotiating with the man who drove his pickup truck onto the sidewalk outside the Library of Congress in Washington DC, say they are hoping for a “peaceful solution” to the crisis.
The man told officers at the scene that he had a bomb, and appeared to be holding something that looked like a detonator.
Even though Congress is not currently in session, police have still evacuated the area around the site as there are many people who are still working in the buildings.
