Driver puts on makeup at wheel while another steers with knees as he eats McDonald’s
Motorists have been caught on camera applying makeup at the wheel, steering with knees while eating a McDonald’s, and using a mobile phone and looking at a laptop while driving on UK motorways.
Footage released by National Highways showed Warwickshire Police discovering the behaviour while patrolling the roads in unmarked HGV cabs.
A woman applying makeup didn’t see officers driving beside her, while a van driver had no hands on the wheel as he tucked into fast food.
National Highways said more than 46,150 offences which have been recorded by officers in Operation Tramline HGV cabs since the safety initiative was launched in 2015.
