Moment mother tries to protect baby as out of control dog unleashes attack on pet

Shocking footage has captured the moment a mother tries to protect her own pet and a young child after a dangerous dog launches an attack.

The woman was walking her dog along Richmond Road in Sheffield while pushing her one-year-old daughter in a trike, when a violent dog approached them.

The Staffordshire bull terrier had escaped its owner and began attacking the victim’s dog, which required treatment from a vet. The woman and her daughter both suffered minor injuries.

The footage has been released by South Yorkshire Police to raise awareness.

The dog in the footage was seized by officers but later returned to the owner with conditions and guidance to follow.
