Winter will still be ‘tough for many families’ despite energy price cap drop, Ofgem warns
Winter will still be “tough for many families” despite the energy price cap fall, Ofgem chief executive Jonathan Brearley has warned.
“You’ve got to accept that we have seen the most dramatic change in prices in our history,” he told Sky News.
“When you take away all the government support that is finishing, things are still going to be tough for many families this winter.”
Ofgem announced on Thursday 25 May a drop to its energy price cap from the current £3,280 per year to £2,074 for the average household.
