New York mayor announces Covid vaccine mandate for private sector

New York mayor Bill de Blasio has announced a vaccine mandate for private sector workers as part of a raft of new Covid restrictions being introduced to try and see off the threat of omicron.

The mayor of New York told MSNBC: “We in New York City have decided to use a preemptive strike to really do something bold to stop the further growth of Covid and the dangers it poses to all of us.”
