‘Gun control now’: Hundreds gather at Tennessee State Capitol after Nashville school shooting

Hundreds of protesters gathered at the Tennessee state capitol on Thursday, 30 March, to demand tighter gun control after a deadly shooting at a Nashville elementary school on Monday.

Six people, including three children, died in the attack on the Covenant School.

Prior to the shooting, Tennessee lawmakers had taken up bills to further relax gun laws. Legislature considered proposals including arming arm teachers and allowing people to carry firearms on college campuses.

Around 200 protesters made their way into the Capitol’s rotunda outside the chambers for state representatives on Thursday as they demanded gun reform.
