Missouri prisoners stab guard in the neck before escaping jail

A prison guard who was stabbed in the neck 12 times by inmates moments before they escaped a Missouri county jail, is “doing fine” and avoided “serious harm”.

Graphic security footage captures two inmates attacking and stabbing the jail worker around a dozen times with a homemade weapon before fleeing.

A manhunt is still underway in the Kansas City area for one of the inmates, named Justin Robinson, who escaped on Monday.

The second suspect was apprehended shortly after escaping.

Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers said: “There’s no doubt in my mind their intent was to kill him (the guard).”

“It’s gruesome, he was stabbed in the neck 12 times,” he said, adding the officer was “doing fine” and avoided “serious harm” due to the “cheap” nature of the materials used to fashion the weapon.
