McConnell just backed Trump for president. This is what he said three years ago
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell endorsed Donald Trump for president Wednesday after the former president’s Super Tuesday success.
The endorsement came shortly after former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley ended her campaign.
McConnell was one of the last top Republicans to give their endorsement to Trump. McConnell has been estranged from Trump since 2020, when he refused to support Trump’s election fraud lie after losing the presidency to Joe Biden.
The senator has also heavily criticised Trump for inciting an insurrection on January 6.
