Moment man and his dog are airlifted to safety after sailing boat runs aground in Samish Bay
This is the moment a man and his dog are rescued by helicopter and airlifted to safety after their boat ran aground.
The US Coast Guard North Pacific Team was alerted to the man and his dog after they had got stuck in their 35-foot sailing vessel in Samish Bay, Washington.
The rescue, which took place on 23 September, saw coastguards hoist the man and his dog to safety in the helicopter.
They were safely transported to Bellingham International Airport. Both were unharmed.
